By now you’ve probably heard of the Change.org petition (over 111,000 signatures as of this writing) to change the date of Halloween to the last Saturday of October.  The reason why this will never happen is because it makes too much sense.

Don’t be fooled by the bars full of scantily clad women and face-painted freaks around Halloween.  This holiday is really for the children.  Children with parents who have jobs and responsibilities.  Children who have to go to school every day.  Having the holiday on a Saturday every year makes life easier for both kids and parents.  Not sold yet?  Maybe this will change your mind.

If the United States Government makes the change happen, Snickers will celebrate by giving away one million free candy bars.  Snickers are great but let’s keep it real – adults are the ones signing this petition – and we all know the treat all parents are swiping from their kids’ bags when they go to bed ain’t Snickers, it’s Reese’s cups.  If we get them on board along with Snickers we might be on to something here.  Strength in numbers.
