Pranking my mother on April Fools Day is something I’ve enjoyed immensely in my 32 years of life.  I tend to space out my April Fools pranks.  If I were to get her every year she’d catch on.  I hit her with one last year but it’s all good because this year in particular is the PERFECT day to get your fool on.

First, April Fools Day is on a Sunday.  What kind of psycho checks the calendar on a SUNDAY?!  That’s just a rude way of being reminded that the next day is Monday.  I’m pretty sure it’s science that nobody checks the calendar on Sundays.  So yeah, ya got that going for ya… AND, it’s freakin’ Easter!  Ain’t nobody got time to keep track of two holidays happening on the same day.  That’s like driving in two lanes at once.  Don’t drive in two lanes at once.  It’s dangerous AF and rude.

Before you start planning you shenanigans, do me a favor, don’t be one of these two people:

  1. The OMG “I’m pregnant,” “she said yes,” or any other played out “gotcha” post on social media person.  You’re not fooling anyone except for your grandmother with dementia who doesn’t know if what’s she’s using is called “Facebook,” “Bookface,” or “Paul.”
    1. But yeah, if you really do find out you’re pregnant on April 1st, congrats.  Just wait until the 2nd to let your followers know.
  2. The “I’m going to make you an emotional wreck or physically injured” prankster.  If you’re not sure what I’m talking about, if what you have in mind will most likely lead to you running from your screaming victim saying something along the lines of “CHILL, CHILL.  IT’S A PRANK, IT’S A PRANK”, don’t do it.  It’s April Fools Day.  Save the intense stuff for payback scenarios (i.e. the drunk friend who threw up between your couch cushions and refused to clean up after himself).

Now that we got that out of the way, parenting.com put together a great list of cute pranks that you could pull on everybody – your kids, partner, teacher, boss, friend, etc.  Check out the list here.
