'The Conners' Premiere Ratings Lower Than 'Roseanne'

October 17, 2018

If you turned on the TV or radio at some point over the past 2 weeks you probably saw or heard a promo for the Roseanne spinoff, The Conners.  I’m pretty sure the commercial ran every 17 seconds.  So with all that promotion the show probably broke ratings records, right?  Nope.

It did well.  Extremely well, actually.  The Conners was the second highest rated show of the night (behind NCIS) with a 7.5 rating.  That equals around 11 million viewers.  See?  Not too shabby!  The Roseanne reboot debuted with an 11.6 rating last year and averaged around an 8.8 for the entire season’s run.

Would the show have bigger numbers if Roseanne wasn’t fired?  Don’t ask me, bubba!  I ain’t goin’ there.  If you missed it, the show explained Roseanne’s death was due to an opioid overdose.
