You Won't See The Valentine's Day Candy Hearts On Shelves This Year

The classic chalky tasting heart shaped candies that have been around for about 130 years will be missing from stores shelves this year.

The brand Sweethearts are expected to make a return in 2020.

Spangler Candy Company in Ohio purchased Necco Wafers and Sweethearts in 2018 after Necco went out of business and closed its factory. 

According to CandyStore.com, the hearts were the most popular candy sold in 2018, with eight billion made annually.
