Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is on January 21st. Check out events around the area that will be honoring him and his legacy in fighting for equality and justice for all! 

MLK Day of Service:

  • Whether it's cleaning up a public space, potting trees, or helping feed the hungry, there are dozens of opportunities to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by volunteering at local organizations as part of a group, as an individual, or as a group leader.

MLK Celebration at Seattle colleges:

  • Jan 18th 12-1:30pm
  • This MLK, Jr. Day tradition honors the civil rights leader with speeches from community leaders, live music, and a reception.

MLK Free State and National Park Day:

  • Jan 21st
  • MLK Day is one of the days that the state and national parks are free.

MLK Day rally & march:

  • Jan 21st
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Commemoration includes affirmative-action activities at Garfield High School, a rally at 11 a.m., and a march at 12:30 p.m. Free.

  • Jan 21st
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Celebration features a keynote speaker plus music, dance, and poetry at Greater Tacoma Convention Center. The community outreach fair is earlier (10 a.m. to 11 a.m.) Free.
