Bobby Brown

November 23, 2015

Bobby Brown found fame as part of the group New Edition, and found breakout success after he released his second solo album Don’t Be Cruel, which launched the singles "My Prerogative" and "Every Little Step." While his follow up albums were good, none matched the success of Don’t Be Cruel. Brown’s noted as a pioneer New Jack Swing, the fusion of hip-hop and R&B so popular in the late 80s and early 90s. Brown gained notoriety after marrying Whitney Houston, as the marriage was plagued by arrests and problems associated with heavy drinking and drug use. Brown’s since cleaned up and is performing with New Edition again.
